A UECD scholarship gives a young adult in Uganda the chance to take their future into their own hands.
As a rule, a bachelor's degree takes three years, an engineering degree four years and a law or medicine degree five years.
UECD scholarships cover the following costs:
Example 3-year course of study
Tuition fees, teaching materials, examination fees, accommodation costs*, health, emergencies = CHF 2,000 per year
PC and mobile phone in the first semester = CHF 700
Cost of scholarship for 3 years of study per student = CHF 6,700
Example: Master's in Law
Tuition fees, teaching materials, examination fees, living costs*, health insurance, emergencies = CHF 2,000 per year
PC and mobile phone in the 1st semester = CHF 700
Costs Scholarship for 5 years of study per student = CHF 10,700
*If students live with relatives, they do not receive money for accommodation costs.
These are average calculations that may vary depending on the university.
It is possible to sponsor a UECD scholarship either partially or fully.
The donated amount can be deducted from taxes.
