Motivation:

After 15 years of UECD and the experiences we have made with the almost 30 students, I am convinced that we are providing sustainable support to destitute young Ugandans - who grew up in rural farming conditions - by financing vocational training for them. Sustainable, because they use the vocational training - as it is common in Africa - to support their family members, usually marry later and choose educated partners with whom they live on an equal footing. Sustainable also because they have children later and only 2-4, which means they also enable their children to go to school. That means having the chance to grow out of poverty.
