Elisabeth Gerber’s motivation:

I have had the good fortune in my life to have so many possibilities to develop, both personally and professionally. For this reason, I would like to give a stipend to a young deserving person in Uganda, to have a similar possibility to study. I am convinced that education is the best way out of poverty, and leads to a life of self determination. I have both the hope and the expectation that the chosen students will contribute substantially to the development of Uganda, as well. I’m looking forward to exchanges with a woman student, for I know that both of us will be the richer for it.

Annemarie Vogt’s motivation:

I am very excited to see the idea I’ve had for years become a deed in reality. The NGO UECD came to me in the form of friends - and in this way, I have come a bit closer to black Africa. Having personal exchanges and helping to support a student would make me so happy.
